Testimonials

"In the summer of 2013, I was in desperate need of a new home for my 7 horses who had experienced extensive neglect and abuse at the hands of a woman I had entrusted with their care.  One call to Jessi & Gerr and my heart was set at ease!  They graciously agreed to care for my herd where over the period of one year Jess & Gerr was able to restore the light in their eyes.  Their commitment to my horses was exemplified after one of my horses sustained a serious injury leaving us uncertain of his future.  Jess & Gerr cared for Toby day in and day out.  They gave medication and treated the wound for months!  Today I am happy to report Toby's future looks great as he is a healthy boy enjoying life to the fullest!"

A horse is the projection of peoples’ dreams about themselves: Strong, Powerful, and Beautiful.

I've always been an animal lover, and the idea of saving animals, to me, is the best thing in the world. At home we've always had dogs, cats, rabbits, turtles, and hamsters but, there was always something missing; a horse. For a few years, I would look through horse ads, listen to buy and sell on the radio, and dream of the day I'd have a horse of my own. At the time, the best thing I could do was take riding lessons, and I loved every bit of it.  After meeting Charlie and the Hooves N Hounds family, there was no doubt in my mind that it was the perfect horse. A few days later, we drove back to Hooves N Hounds to pick Charlie up.  Jess was very patient with us.  The overall experience with Hooves N Hounds was great, they treat you like they've known you forever. They always had smiles on their faces and you could definitely tell that their fur babies were their family and very loved.

Now on to Charlie. He is a real sweetheart. When people meet him, or hear that we have a rescue horse, they always say "He's a rescue. He wasn't worth it", or "Why would you get a rescue when you could buy a broke, older horse closer to home?" Well, the answers are easy. I can relate to him. He's had it tough, I've had it tough. Life wasn't easy for the little guy, life wasn't easy for me. Being a rescue, it doesn't lower his potential in any way. Charlie is the perfect little horse, we will get to grow up together and our bond will never be broken. He is a great addition to the family and is always at the gate to greet us before we're even half way there.

Whenever I am out with Charlie, I cant help but smile at how goofy he is, how sweet he is, or just how much he wants to be loved. He was the one, as they say. The one I had definitely been waiting for.
